derived from the Mexican game Conquian or may have been derived from a
card game similar to Mah Jong which began somewhere in China in the 18th
century. Rummy is played in many ways and Gin Rummy is the most popular
which was developed in New York.

How to play?
This is a 52 card version of the game. This is a group of skill-based card
games. This is played in many variations and all share the same objectives
and play structure. These card games are best played by 2 to 4 players but
up to 6 can play. The game is played to a target score or a fixed number
of deals are played as it is agreed before starting of the game. This game
is very popular because in skill it requires a good strategy, experience
and sophistication to play the game. If a player is master in all these
skills, he improves his chance of winning the Rummy games.
In the game a standard deck of 52 cards is used. These cards are divided
in different suites and cards in each suit rank, from low to high like:
Ace 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Jack Queen King
In this card game each player is given a set of cards (generally 10 in Gin
Rummy) and the aim of the card game is to be the first player to collect a
desired set of one type of card in his hand by rotating clockwise if there
are more than two players. Each player discard those cards which are not
helpful in generating desired sequence and try to collect those cards
which create sequences with the cards. If a player makes a sequence of the
cards they declare it and facing down on the table. If player’s sequences
match according to game rule then this player is declared the winner.
So in Rummy a matching technique is required to win the game and a player
can get rid of cards in 3 ways and these 3 ways are melding, discarding
and laying off.
In the beginning of the game equal number of cards are distributed to
each player. Once they have drawn a card, they decide which is least
useful in the set and choose to place it on the discard pile. And the
opponent has option to take that card on their turn if it is useful. The
player who scores highest scores would be the winner of the game.
Since Rummy games has many versions and variations so these games
techniques are used in mathematics to teach probability techniques to
students. This game is easy to learn but for good strategy it can take
lifetime. Since playing to this game requires only game-cards and 2
players can also play this game so it can be played anywhere and that’s
why it is very popular. It keeps brain active and it is a great
entertainment.
